*click blue link in post to watch* Pavel Durov, the Russian billionaire and CEO of Telegram, an encrypted communicaton app, was arrested by French authorities on suspicion of facilitating drug trafficking, terrorism and child abuse material on his platform. They let him out on bail already, which shows us that the authorities aren't taking the charges seriously. Instead, I believe they will use these very serious charges to attempt to blackmail Durov into giving Western governments a back door into the Telegram app. That's their playbook!
